Day 2675 | Orchid

Robbe made it to the WMTA Piano Regional Competition over the weekend and he crushed it! He’s been working on these three pieces for most of the school year and the dedication paid off. Practicing is rarely fun, but when you complete a goal, it sure makes it worth it.
What a lovely way to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend. Our first trip back to the lake since Easter. I finished an entire book. I soaked in lots of sunshine and enjoyed being doted on by my three favorite boys. I even got to spend the whole weekend with my mom—is there any better way to celebrate?
Sending extra love to all the moms (of human babies or fur babies) today. It’s not an easy job, but it sure does fill your heart.
The robins are back!
Robbe wrapped up a Spring rock climbing course yesterday. What a cool program—and right in our neighborhood. Now to see if his blistered little hands will fully recover.
Have I mentioned how much I love spring? And today even felt like it. Finally!
The arcade down the street got two new pinball machines so naturally Chris and Robbe had to check them out. Big day!
We didn’t invite him, but he joined us anyway.
I’ll take a cookie date with this guy any day.
Another day, another cold [and even slightly rainy] soccer game. Living the dream over here.
Soccer’s back. And it was about 35 degrees. Why do we do this?!? All I can say is that it’s a good thing Robbe loves it so much.
It could not have been a more beautiful weekend here in Eau Claire. We soaked in a ton of sunshine, got some yard work taken care of, and even managed to have a bit of fun, too.
Spring is officially on the way. And I’m more than officially ready.
This guy is twelve today. 12! I can’t believe it either. If you know him, you know he’s just the smartest, funniest, kindest, most sensitive soul around. He’s also overly competitive at board games and doesn’t love being too busy.
I love this guy so very much.
This guy is two days away from turning 12. Twelve. That’s crazy. April 5, 2012, was the official due date. Of course, Chase decided to take his sweet time and officially joined our family two days later. There’s not an April 5 that goes by, though, that I don’t think about the months and months I spent counting down to that date. Not to seem cliche, but, man, that seems like a lifetime ago.
Eau Claire officially has everything we need now that Mr. Kitty’s Cat Cafe just opened (and we can walk there!). Clearly we went on opening day, because you have to. The cats seemed a bit uninterested in us (probably because they all of a sudden had so many visitors!), but it was a lot of fun. We found friends who were interested in lots of pets and snuggles so we left away happy.
Now hopefully it’s not too long before we can make it back!
It’s been a bit. Sorry about that. Pre-spring break preparations, then spring break busy-ness, and now post-spring break catch-up mode.
I’ll try to do better…but no promises! In the meantime, look at this fun piece of artwork at the library’s newest exhibit. Beautiful, right? Can you tell I’m a bit excited about spring officially making its appearance?
The boys spent last night learning how to decorate cakes with their 4-H club. Fun, right? Also, very messy. But mostly fun.
Yeah, I don’t mind a lazy Sunday. Not at all.
Robbe killed it at today’s piano competition. He worked SO hard over the last few weeks and it totally paid off. He even made it to the next level!
We’re so proud of this little dude for all the effort he put in.
