Day 2638 | Pinball
/Yep. We’re still pretty into it.
Yep. We’re still pretty into it.
We got to hang out with these friends two weekends in a row! Can you believe how lucky we are?
A family outing to the UWEC Blugold’s basketball game tonight. Anni was cheering which gave us the extra motivation we needed to leave the house. This guy even got his face painted (and ignore the temporary tattoo put on backwards by his mom).
Chase and I busted out of Eau Claire today to help this sweet lady celebrate her birthday. She’s been one of my favorites for a very long time and I felt so grateful to have spent part of her big day with her.
Yeah. We’re getting *pretty* into 3D printing over here. You can tell by how many friends join us for a family board game.
It’s far too cold to leave the house for non-essential excursions so that’s opened the door for lots of puzzling recently. Puzzles and sunshine might be my new favorite combination.
In case you’re wondering, this is what a pickle sitting on your shoulder would look like.
We’ve been waiting very patiently for some snow to show up this winter. It wasn’t the 4-6 inches they forecasted but it was enough to do some sledding so we’ll call it a win. I even got to try out my new snow bibs!
Chase had his first-ever band concert tonight. It was so fun! With over 100 kids in the 6th grade band, that’s more kids than I had in my entire 6th grade class.
Chase did great and we enjoyed seeing him in his environment. So far, so good with middle school.
I haven’t been taking many photos lately so I dug this one out from last Friday—a coffee date with my sweet grandma and cousin.
What a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. And I fully realize how lucky I am.
Another racket sport for the family to add to our repertoire! We need to invest some time in learning the rules for this one but we’re excited.
Sorry for the unexpected hiatus over winter break. The days just got away from me! Back in action now, though.
And big news from our house…we joined the YMCA (which happens to be a block away from us). It wasn’t so much a New Year’s resolution as it was a half-off membership deal in December that tipped the scales. The whole family is pretty excited about being more active. Especially the one pictured above.
We had a magical weekend of Christmas festivities up at the lake with my parents and Chris’s mom. It was pretty quiet without any of our siblings around, but we made the most of it. We didn’t want to leave, that’s for sure!
We watched a Netflix movie about a Norwegian Christmas celebration and decided to start a new holiday tradition today. The day before Christmas Eve will, from this point on, be referred to as Teeny Tiny Christmas. Today’s festivities included: ice skating in the fog, finalizing Christmas baking, puzzling, playing games, listening to Christmas music, extra video game time, and more.
Yeah, this is clearly a tradition that is going to stick around. Happy Teeny Tiny Christmas, everyone!
Holiday baking 2023…check! My mom and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon making some of our favorites. And the boys helped with the Hug/Kiss placement. A real team effort.
We couldn’t have our little family Christmas without at least one delicious treat. I tried out these brownie cookie cutouts (https://smittenkitchen.com/2008/04/brownie-roll-out-cookies/) and they are just as amazing as they sound. Maybe the most perfect version of a cookie (in my opinion). They’re soft, chocolatey, festive…AND can be made into ice cream sandwiches. What more could you ask for?
Another low-key, but very Christmas-y weekend in the books. Man, I love this crew.
It’s been a crazy week around here. We’ve had something every single night. Thank goodness the weekend is right around the corner.
Tonight’s adventure was bell ringing for the 4-H club. We had a fun time doing it with friends this year and we even got to celebrate a birthday at the same time.
From dance competitions to cheer competitions! We’re super excited to continue to be part of Anni’s fan club.
We spent a lovely winter weekend at the lake house. There was ice skating, puzzling, hot tubbing, reading, pinballing, and lots of relaxing. As a bonus, some friends come up for a visit AND we even got to enjoy some huge snowflakes. This time of year is pretty magical.
